DOCENTEN KAMERMUZIEK ATELIER DELFT 2026:

De lessen worden dit jaar verzorgd door Pavel Fischer, Donald Grant, Raaf Hekkema, Sidonie Riha en Martin Stupka (allemaal inmiddels bekende gezichten bij het Kamermuziek Atelier Delft) en de leden van Trio Kagura, die na een groot succes in 2025 weer halve dagen les zullen komen geven. Als extra coach (voornamelijk voor de jongste ensembles) komt Anna-Marieke Zijlstra voor enkele dagdelen het team versterken. Elk ensemble krijgt in principe met minimaal twee verschillende docenten les.

PAVEL FISCHER (violin) is co-founder of the Skampa Quartet whose leader he was for many years. He worked together with musicians as Kathryn Stott, Liza Ferschtman, Ronald van Spaendonck, Janine Jansen and Joseph Suk. He performs regularly with his crossover-ensembles Camael and Bardolino and receives great recognition for his own compositions. He is teacher at the Royal Northern College of Music Manchester, the Conservatoire Birmingham and the CODARTS Rotterdam and regularly gets invited as guest teacher of the Royal Academy of Music London, the Netherlands String Quartet Academy and Chamber Music Festivals all over the world.

DONALD GRANT (violin) from Manchester is co-founder of the Elias Quartet (GB) and since more than twenty years member of this ensemble. He performs at major concert venues worldwide (e.g. Carnegie Hall, Wiener Musikverein, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall London and Concertgebouw Amsterdam). With his Quartet he recorded all Beethoven Quartets for the Wigmore Hall live label. His debut album ‘The way home’ shows him as passionate fiddle player. He isa also member of folk band “The Secret North”. Donald is teacher and Deputy Head of Chamber Music of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester.

RAAF HEKKEMA (saxophone) is co-founder of Calefax Reed Quintet. He arranged hundreds of works for Calefax and himself, many of which have been recorded. With his ensemble he regularly offers educational concerts for children and he is very engaged in teaching professional and amateur musicians. Raaf performed chamber music with musicians as Liza Ferschtman, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Remy van Kesteren, het Danel Quartet, Christianne Stotijn and Helena Rasker. He teaches saxophone and chamber music at the Royal Conservatory The Hague. In 2020 he was appointed as a member of the ‘Akademie van Kunsten’.

SIDONIE RIHA (violin) was second violinist of the Rubens and Faust Quartet and violinist of the Deutsche Kammerakademie. With these ensembles she performed at many concert venues and festivals (e.g. Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Berliner Philharmonie, Opera Oslo, Festival Quartuor a cordes Luberon, Schleswig Holstein Festival). Sidonie provided masterclasses chamber music at the summer school of the University of Bloomington, the Barratt Due Music Institute Oslo and Cremona X archi. She regularly performs with the Nederland Kamerorkest and is a teacher for violin, viola and chamber music at the Music Academy The Hague, the International German School and European School The Hague.

MARTIN STUPKA (viola) from Prague is a versatile and accomplished violist and certified sound engineer and producer. Martin's musical activities are very wide-ranging and include collaborations across various musical genres: chamber music (as a current member of the Škampa Quartet and Martinu Quartet), chamber orchestra (with the Talich Philharmonia and Prague Chamber Orchestra); baroque music (with Collegium Marianum and Collegium 1704); jazz (with P.F.O., Octothorpe and Mira Mode Orchestra); and folk music (with Rosénka). With those ensembles he has toured widely within Europe and further afield. Martin has also given masterclasses and at present teaches at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague.

MEMBERS OF TRIO KAGURA: Trio Kagura is an international ensemble founded in 2017 in Manchester, uniting musicians from Japan, Lithuania, and New Zealand. The Trio is an acclaimed ensemble that performs regularly across the UK and Europe. It has recently been selected for the prestigious 2024-25 Britten Pears Young Artist Programme. Trio Kagura is regularly working with some of the finest musicians in the world, including David Waterman, Kathryn Stott, Pavel Fischer, Petr Prause and members of the Talich Quartet. KANAKO MIZUNO (piano) from Japan graduated from the Royal Academy of Music London and the Royal Northern College of Music, where She was selected as a winner of the Gold Medal. She received a Global Talent Visa from the UK and has been awarded numerous prizes in recognition of her skilful piano playing. Winning placements include Japan Player’s Competition, the Young Artist Piano Competition, Le Brilant French Music Competition, Tokyo Piano Competition and Japan Classical Music Competition. Kanako has a strong passion in chamber music and teaching. She is a member of Trio Kagura and the Hara Duo and regularly collaborates with dancers. PIJUS JONUŠAS (violin) is a Lithuanian violinist. He studied at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague  and at The Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. During his studies which he finished with distinction, he specialized in chamber music. Pijus became member of the Elmore Quartet and Trio Kagura. With the Elmore Quartet he was appointed as a Junior Fellow in chamber music. He has performed in iconic venues including Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, Wigmore, Cadogan and Conway halls in London and collaborated with renowned artists like Magnus Johnston, Timothy Ridout and Abel Salaocoe. He is also active as teacher for violin and chamber music. YUUKI BOUTEREY-ISHIDO (cello) is a New Zealand cellist currently performing in the UK and Europe as a member of the Trio Kagura, and Sub-Principal Cello at the Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He has toured Europe extensively as a member of the Menuhin Academy Soloists under the direction of Maxim Vengerov and has been invited to perform at major festivals around the world. Yuuki has been awarded numerous chamber music and solo prizes including the 1 Prize in the Barbirolli Cello Competition and the String Player Award at the Gisborne International Music Competition. He collaborates with artists such as David Waterman, Ilya Grubert, and Christophe Roy.

ANNA-MARIEKE ZIJLSTRA (oboe/voice) is a oboist and mezzo-soprano. She earned her master's degree in oboe and classical voice at the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague and her bachelor's degree in French at Leiden University both cum laude. She is performing in ensembles and orchestras as the JongNBE, the Metropole Orkest and the Koraal Kwartet and appears regularly as a soloist with choirs and orchestras. She teaches French to classical singers at the CODARTS Rotterdam, where she also serves as a study career counsellor and she teaches oboe at SKVR Rotterdam and Scholen in de Kunst Amsterfort. She won the first prize at the Tristan Keuris Chamber Music Competition and serves as a jury member of the Prinses Christina Concours.

DOCENTEN KAMERMUZIEK ATELIER DELFT 2024:

Mirsa Adami (piano) - vormt een vast duo met de violiste Cecilia Bernardini; kamermuziekparters waren o.a. Birthe Blom,  de Noorse cellist Håkon Samuelsen en het Darius Ensemble; is vaste correpetitor bij de cellomasterclasses van de Holland Music Sessions en aan de Nieuwe Opera Academie Amsterdam; is sinds 2007 een van de pianisten en presentatoren van de Classic Express van het Prinses Christina Concours; ontwikkelde meerdere educatieve projecten en kinderconcerten; combineert in haar recitals vaak muziek met gedichten;  werd in 2015 onderscheiden met de Tinnen medaille van de Franse Société Académique Arts-Sciences-Lettres

JELTE ALTHUIS (bass clarinet/basset horn) is member of the Calefax Reed Quintet for about 30 years and and plays with this ensemble at prominent concert venues worldwide. He specialized on the bass clarinet and basset horn, especially for this ensemble. Since 2010 he also plays the contrabass clarinet. Jelte is founder of the music collective Lyrisch Laag and he forms a duo with organist/pianist Henny Heikens. Besides performing he is experienced both as an arranger and a coach for advanced musicians. He is teaching in the master program of the Royal Conservatory The Hague.

Pavel Fischer (viool): oprichter en voormalig primarius van het befaamde Skampa Quartet;  andere kamermuziekpartners waren o.a. Josef Suk, Jiři Bárta, Melvyn Tan, Kathryn Stott, Wolfgang Holzmair, Ronald van Spaendonck, Liza Ferschtman en Janine Jansen; is hoofdvakdocent aan het Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester) en het Conservatoire Birmingham en gastdocent aan de Royal Academy of Music in London; geeft regelmatig masterclasses aan de Nederlandse Strijkkwartet Academie, het Concertgebouw en het Australian Chamber Music Festival; treedt regelmatig op met zijn crossover-ensembles: "Camael" en trio "Il bardolino" ; schreef meerdere kamermuziekcomposities, die o.a. in de Carnegie Hall, in het Rudolfinum Prag en de Elbphilharmonie Hamburg uitgevoerd werden.

Donald Grant (viool) medeoprichter en al 20 jaar lid van het Elias Quartet; speelt met zijn kwartet op alle belangrijke podia (o.a. Carnegie Hall, Wiener Musikverein, Konzerthaus Berlin, Wigmore Hall en Concertgebouw Amsterdam) en is op taalrijke cd opnames te beluisteren (o.a. een complete opname van de strijkkwartetten van Beethoven); is docent en adjunct-hoofd van de kamermuziek faculteit van het Royal Northern College of Music (Manchester); werkt met musici uit de genres folk, jazz en pop samen; componeert ook zelf en is een gepassioneerde speler van Schotse fiddle music.

Raaf Hekkema (saxofoon) - is lid en medeoprichter van het Calefax Rietkwintet en geeft met dit ensemble concerten over de hele wereld; schreef een honderdtal bewerkingen voor Calefax en voor zijn eigen solo-optredens; hij studeerde naast saxofoon ook compositie (o.a. bij Tristan Keuris); hij ontving in 2007 de Echo Klassik, de cd-prijs van de Duitse Phonoakademie, als Instrumentalist of the Year; werkte samen met musici en ensembles  zoals: Liza Ferschtman, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, Remy van Kesteren, het Danel Quartet, Christianne Stotijn, Helena Rasker en het Nederlands Kamerkoor; is hoofdvakdocent aan het Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag en werd  in 2020 benoemd tot lid van de Akademie van Kunsten; geeft over de hele wereld masterclasses zowel voor professionele musici als amateurmusici

Sidonie Riha (viool): studeerde de hoofdvakken viool, altviool en kamermuziek met  Ch.A.Linale, Boris Belkin, M.Kugel en E.Feltz; was vele jaren violiste in het Rubens Kwartet en Faust Quartet; concerteerde met deze ensembles op belangrijke Europese concertpodia zoals de Opera Oslo, Philharmonie Berlin, en Concertgebouw Amsterdam; was docente voor kamermuziek o.m.bij de Summer String Academie van de Indiana University of Bloomington, het Barratt Due Instituut Oslo en het CODARTS Rotterdam; heeft kindervoorstellingen en educatieve projecten ontwikkeld o.a. voor het Duitse initiatief Rhapsody in school en het Grachtenfestival; geeft viool- en altvioolles aan de Muziekacademie Den Haag

Charles Watt (cello) - studeerde cello aan de Cambridge University en de Guildhall School of Music and Drama, London; was meerdere jaren als docent verbonden aan de Yehudi Menuhin School en de Purcell School; is lid van Ensemble Lumaka en speelt  regelmatig in het ASKO Schoenberg, het Nieuwe Ensemble en Amsterdam Sinfonietta; geeft concerten in Europa en Amerika en trad onder andere op in de Alice Tully Hall in New York, het Concertgebouw in Amsterdam en de Royal Albert Hall in Londen
